putting some floor boards down (not chipboard) wooden tongue and groove jobbies!! which nails do I use originally they have been put down with,,,,,well its like a square-ish tack, what is the preferred nail now?
what about sellotape?????? can i use that???????? no seriously which is the nail of choice now? they are not gonna be on show/sanded or anything like that just gonna be under the carpet etc etc? cheers
Yeah,Sellotape is good.Just make sure you dont use "Own Brand" sellotape,as this can dry out quickly and fail, resulting in "see-saw" style floorboards every time you step on em.
you may have to wait a bit.I dont know the first thing about laying floorboards. Someone should be along shortly no doubt.
wow what a difference in choice, cheers for the advice! is it possible to gun them down with a paslode 350?
And if your wondering why I suggested 2 1/2" lost heads and then said I use the Paslode, it's because I didn't think the OP would have access to a Paslode!
lost head nils are popular for banging down floorboards but if you stick with the good old floor brad you wont go far wrong as they are deigned for the job and there will be less chance of the board coming loose and creaking.
