Hi all, I am in the process of putting in a suspended floor in my loft, all going through building regs. UB's are in place and timber is on order for the ashlar wall, floor joists and hangers. however I am unsure what nails to use to attached the joist hangers? Most places, including screwfix sell 30mm square twist nails (product code 12788). However 30mm sounds quite short to me, but thats probably just me over thinking/enginnering eveerything. Can someone please confirm if these are the correct things to use? Thanks,
Yes, those are the right nails, as long as you naill all holes on hanger you will be ok. You would struggle to pull them out, so make sure hanger is in correct position before nailing.
sorry to hi-jack your thread, but on the subject of joist hangers, are these the type that are bent over in a hook and sit on another joist? http://www.screwfix.com/p/sabrefix-joist-hanger-50-x-225mm-pack-of-4/99505 I know the description says masonry... Cheers
sorry, wrong link. I meant these: http://www.screwfix.com/p/simpson-s...ber-joist-hangers-47-x-248mm-pack-of-10/37986
