    Hi all,

Hope someone on here can help. I'll say right now I am pretty clueless when it comes to DIY!

I've just moved into my first house (finally on the property ladder!) we got some wiring work done and some of the floorboards got damaged as a result. So I'm going to be replacing those and then putting down a, subfloor (I think that's what it's called) to make sure of a nice flat surface before getting a carpet laid.

So my question, what's the best kind of subfloor to use? Hardwood? Plyboard? Chipboard? Hardboard? I was going to go with something of a depth of about 3 - 6mm.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

    Thanks in advance

    Cheers

    Alex

If you want 3mm use hardboard and if you want 6mm use ply. Dont forget to acclimatise first.

    Ply is always best
