    Hi

I was using my oven, but it's all gone off. So I checked the fuse box. The only button down is as shown but I can't push it back up. How do I fix this

    Photo is bad
If it's the RCD push switch down first before pulling it up.

If it wont locks there is a fault
I would switch oven off at the wall plate
and try reset the RCD again

Ah can see now It's The RCD that feeds ground shower, Cooker, water heater, first floor sockets & Lights.

    No That the Test Button

OK switch off all 5 of the breakers to the LEFT of the RCD that wont reset
    Then try rest the RCD
    If it stays up
Then switch each on back on one by one

Just tried that, but the switch won't budge, is it meant to be really hard to switch up

They can seem a bit stiff
If you press the test button on the left hand RCD that should trip out
    Then reset that one
Compare the pressure required to pull switch up from Left to right RCD

No its not ment to be hard to push up you will need to call in an electrician what type of light bulbs have you got..

It sounds like your oven element is on its way out and started to leak to earth thats why your RCD tripped..

You have a decent consumer unit that has been installed badly, there are gaps, taped blanks etc

Hager have done a blank module (JK01B) that fits exactly and does a decent job.

The electrician who did this install is a bit rough

Yes- Hager RCD's are a bit hard to push up, a couple of my clients have arthritis and I suggest a wooden spoon to push it up- then they can use both hands to shove it up.

As Spirits says sounds like cooker element is on way out...
I would start looking for a decent local appliance engineer

I saw 17 comments and came here to read the argument.

    Very disappointed.

    Had popcorn ready.
