    Hi all,

    here’s a problem...hope you Can help!! i need it!!!

I’ve got a galvanised inlet pipe running from the mains meter, it’s been cut so has no threads!!!!

I need to connect it to on to the house (yes this is the main supply that I didn’t realise was the main supply!) So it’s a bare cut galvanised pipe 25mm, I have a 20mm Plastic pipe connecting through to house supply. Down sizing is done, but how can I connect the bate galvanised to any type of connection? ? Looked on YouTube and the like and have seen a Plastic universal connector like ‘Phil Mac’? Or a rubber joint with those screw clips. Please any help would be great from you wise ones! thanks!!

  2. There are fittings designed to do this, I've used them in the past with surprisingly successful outcomes. Try Googling "connecting mpde pipe to galvanised pipe" or something similar.

I don't think fittings available for gas.

Best to get a gas safe in, could be classes as 'essential' or 'emergency'.
