Hi, I am replacing a gas hob during a kitchen refurb. I asked a gas fitter if I could have a flexible hose as the worktop will need moving as the worktops are adjusted. He said a flexible hose is not allowed. Just want to check he's right?

It's not quite as black and white as that but generally no you can't use a flexible hose on a hob.

But, I was putting in a hob the other day, and you can use £115.00 commercial catering hose to connect it up, It was in the MI's (manufacturers instructions!)

but, the customer didn't want to go for it...

    what gives?!

It's not as simple as that. Especially if there is a hot oven underneath!
