What are the general rules of thumb for painting the exterior of a house? The surface is currently unpainted dry dash rendering.
Do I need a sealing compound on it first?
Also how many coats is the norm?
What square metreage / ltr can I expect to get from masonry paint?
    Brush or roller?

I realise each situation is probably different but just some general thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Cheers

I would aply 2 coats by roller with the first thinned 10% water in order to make it easyer to apply the second coat should be full strength and will be Quicker.

I would estimate that coverage would be 5/6 meters square a coverage (just my opinion)

I normally use stabilizing solution if the surface is powdery and or leaves powdery deposits on the hand if rubbed over.

Also use quality paint Dulux trade or leyland.

    Regards Paul
