    Hi folks

Got a dashcam holder called the olixar dock and go. Its already not sticking to the above the dash (not the windscreen). I am just wondering should i glue it to above the dash? If so which type of glue?

    thanks

Try running water over the pad, supposed to revive the sticky.

If any part is ABS plastic (possibly not your dash board's material) you could use MEK, Methyl Ethyl Ketone. A solvent weld for ABS plastic.

If push came to shove then I would use a small screw rather than glue.

I will try and get strong double sided tape and hope it lasts three our four months. I have had a think about it and i dont think super gluing it to above the dashboard would be a good move.

Most glues, including sticky tape glue will soften and possibly melt if /when parked or driving in the hot sunshine.
Well, enough for the thing to fall off quite quickly anyway IMO.

We do get some you know, sunshine that is, Lol.........

A screw (as mentioned) or a bolt may be favourable.

@Indiana Jones Is fitting a holder to the head lining an option.
I have bolted a very simple holder just to the side of my (sun)glasses holder and rear view mirror, to which I insert my smartphone.
Makes for quite a good dashcam.

You could try some dash cam sticky pads, good quality ones will resist high temperatures.

Hi thanks for your reply. The headliner is the inside top of the car? I dont know. I would probably make a mess of it.
