goldenboy £60 to fit an internal

i charge £50 and upwards on replacement doors, i dont do wimpey type new build

ex council houses ALWAYS cost more because the linings are so bad they have to be sorted before hanging the door

Although I was shocked at what you get per door. I will say, anyone that can hang a door to a good standard in 20 minutes, is pretty much lying.

How many door linings are perfectly square? I have upped my door hanging rate after reading what you get goldenboy. like I said before good luck to ya.

prince the problem is that the guys who do hang doors in 20 minutes TRULY BELIEVE they are doing it to a good standard

whats more they will argue that the huge gaps they leave (usually over 6mm)is good quality work, when the fact is it is totally unacceptable

moreover they will argue that different gaps on all three sides is good quality and so are varying gaps

these are the types of bodgers, all traders and cowboys who tell their customers that there is no one in the area who can do a better job

seriously lads it takes you lot a cpl of hours to plane 1 door in.we have 1 lad planing them in,the other follows hanging them and when the other lad has finished planing them in he locks them out.never had 1 door yet that went straight in.these are all no fine houses were the majority are pigs of a fit.the head's have to be planed in a inch to nothing.20 min max to plane in,another 15-20 putting the furniture on.f.u.c.k me what you lads doing stopping in between for tea breaks.

Which makes 40 minutes Mazball!! So where did you get the 20 minutes? What about putting the stops on, another guy? I personally wouldnt want to hang a door someone else has shot in.

Deeds we have lots of guys down here who reckon that all us qualified tradesmen, who have spent 20 years plus doing the job, cant do the job, still when someone makes a complete balls up, i can get loads of work.

shot in,what's that all about.1 planing 1 fitting, called teamwork prince.some of us have mate's.why don't you and goldenballs team up.have your van with your name on;COCKED UP AND BALLS UP JOINERY.

maz

any fool can throw a 6 panel door weighing less than a bag of sugar into a lining and plane them so the door stops HAVE TO DO THEIR JOB

and any other fool knows they are badly hung

maz the neighbour came crawling back

regardless of your comments, you know the type of customer my neighbour is, thinks cheap and good come in the same box

NEVER HEARD sHOT IN YET.6mm gap, yeah alright,in a perfect world.you can only fit to what's there.you can't make a silk purse outta sow's ear.6mm is all well and good, but what happens if the room is getting plastered.door swells,do you charge another £60.i know what would happen round here if you fitted a door then asked for £60.run quick springs to mind.

absolute ******** 60 for an internal.are lads can easily do 10 -11 a day.600 a day, come on golden, where you working hollywood or is that were you and the hoarder dirty served your time.go on site chump you're lucky if you get 25 an internal.

Most guys down here are getting £40-50 a door so ive been told reliably this weekend. What does it matter if he is getting that anyway?

Way I see it, is if he gets £60 a door, bloody good luck to him. It doesnt matter to me at all! I was charging £25-£30 a door, depending on client.I was happy with that. So stick your rate up mazball!

Whos the mug then mazball. Sorry you appear to have gone from one man fitting one door in 20 mins to three or four men fitting one door in 40 mins. which is it? also you claim to have never heard of the term 'shot in'. Clearly shows you dont know what you are on about. I am not surprised that you are only getting £25 a door if you blame the materials for a 6mm gap all round. I dont care what you get for a door. I get £60 and I dont understand why you are so bothered. Personally if you were working for me and hung a door with 6mm all round i would charge you £25 to replace the door

as i read your post you seem to think that a 6mm gap is your target and that sometimes you lavea bigger gap to allow for plaster drying out. You should be aiming for a 2mm gap all round and about 6mm on the bottom. if you are leaving a minimum of 6mm gap and usually bigger you have the lowest standards that i have heard of. with a gap that big you may as well just go the wholr hog and just hang 27"s in every 30" lining just to be on the safe side!

plus i dont hang doors and then ask for £60. I quote for £60 and then having done the doors present an invoice for the amount i quoted for. Thats how business works,

If you leave a 6mm gap maz on a new build you'l be able to get your fingers in the gap when the heatings on

plus it doesnt take 2 hrs to plane a door you mug. It can take sometimes 2 hrs to remove old door, fit new one, do ironmongery, drink my tea, sweep up and pack up.
seems your 3man team of experts take 20 mins to shoot door in, 20 mins to fit ironmongery. so that means you are taking 40 mins between you to do that. You also need to fit the door.who does that? do you have a expert te=am of three for that job? one to hold the door, 1 to hold the tee hinges and another to nail them on. As for your eight man team of sweeper uppers..........................
