Gravity Fed Basin Taps Slow

In my uncles bathroom the basin mixer tap which I know is gravity fed doesn't flow all that fast. I can see that the flexi hoses coming of 15mm copper piping look very thin indeed so I am wondering if I could change them for slightly bigger bore ones, would that help the flow much?

The other thing is I don't know if the basin mixer tap is suited for low, high or even both, how can I tell?

Mixer taps with narrow bore flexible hose tap connectors are invariably suited to high pressure water supplies ,not low pressure gravity.
