    Hi guys

Got an issue with the above boiler. Heating works fine but sometimes when I turn the hot tap on the water goes from hot to freezing cold. if I switch the tap off and back on again it usually fixes the issue. I stripped the flow switch tonight on the mains supply inside the boiler and it’s seriously scaled up, could this be my issue? I hear it’s a common problem.

    thanks

    Yes, fit a scale reducer.

I’m going to replace the flow switch, so hopefully that will see my problem solved. I’ve seen scale reducers, I’d have to cut my pipe work to fit it. Are they quite effective?

Just in case anyone has the same issue as me, changing the flow switch solved my problem.

.....until that gets scaled up like the old one.

Not once I put in a scale reducer!

Although I don’t think I need a scale reducer. I saw one online and it’s says it’s to be fitted on hardness over 200ppm. I have very soft water where I stay, nowhere near 200ppm. I’m going to test it tomorrow.
