I'm looking at options for housing my vinyl record collection in an alcove space in my living room

The alcove will house approximately 900lb of vinyl, the dimensions of the alcove is approx 100cm wide by 30 cm deep

Floating alcove shelves would be ideal but I'm looking at 6 shelves with a load of 150lb each, which I don't think is going to work is it?

So I'm thinking about making boxes and stacking them, hacking a premade shelving unit or making my own shelving unit/cabinet. Will the floor in that area be able to support so much weight? Its a ground floor room in a Victorian Terrace, the floor joists in the room run in the direction of the length of the space, its in the corner of the room.

Any advice would be gratefully received

You might have gone a little way to restore faith in people for @Jord86. Hope you get it sorted.
