I'm thinking of checking out some gu10 cfl lamps to see how they compare to our 50W Halogens.

My question is : can standard gu10's and these cfl's be used in the same loop ie 5 GU10s and 1 cfl? I'm thinking probably not but thought I'd best get an informed opinion.

Cheers

Electricaly that's no problem but you may find depending on manufacture of lamp/fitting that they protrude further out of the fitting than a GU10.

I have a few in our gaff but bought the dedicated scholmore fittings which are deeper.

Don't buy the Cool White (4000K) ones like I did they are too bright even at 9W

9W Warm white are still a tadge bright for me, rest of our downlights are 20W MR16 which are just bright enough without using too much juice, got 26 in our Kitchen! :(
