I was scared the engineers' forum might seize up from lack of use!

Apparently one is on his way, can't remember his name but this face is familiar :)

I feel awful now - all these people excitedly anticipating an engineering question but lured in here under false pretenses!

I have often wondered why this is the least used of all the forums, I reckon it's because us engineers by their very nature, know all the answers!

Either that, or their all PC illiterate!

When my son got married the vicar asked me my occupation.

"Engineer" I said.

"Would you try to use joined-up handwriting when you sign the register" sez the vicar.

Changed his name to Clark Kent after making a bit of a * of himself.

Proper engineers, not just the so called engineers who mend washing machines etc. are around, but maybe don't find anything interesting on this "engineers" forum that's really a technicians forum.

I'm a proper engineer, although maybe not, because the guys who started out as apprentices tend to be pretty sh!t hot! We don't know everything, but we sure as hell can work it out if we need to which like you say could probably account for why this forum is a bit light on discussion! Got a bit cocky with my all-round knowledge though (know a little about a lot and a lot about little!) and got ripped to shreds in plumbers talk.

Maybe we should stick to talking about utilising gyroscopic effect as a propulsion device and gears with adaptive ratios.

It's ok it you want to go sideways slowly :)

Mmmmm

Take it you will be using a laser gyro rather than the old mechanical type in order to aid propulsion !
