    Hi,

Trying to get started on the 2nd floor. Because of how the beams are bolted, the beams sitting on top are not a block height, or two bricks. They are the width of a block plus the height of a brick (see photo). I want to get that level so I can then just do a full course of blocks on the corner.

Best way to bring level? I've tried cutting blocks lengthways to make 100 mm stretchers on which I could lay a course of bricks to bring level. But the blocks keep cracking. I could just lay full blocks on their side and a course of bricks on top.

Amy thoughts or does it not really matter as long as I get it level and then start the cavity wall block courses?

    Hope that makes sense
