Discussion in 'Tilers' Talk' started by goldenshower, Feb 24, 2020.
I would have a quick chat and ask if he could sort the area in question before it is too late
The full tiles have an angle in the design the cut tiles lose this angle, being picky it could look odd as a gap would be present where the two cut edges meet. Skirting, picture rail etc would be scribed in.................now there's a challenge!
It looks pretty neat to me. It's only realistic to deal with a limited amount of wall run out via tiles. Perhaps the 4th pair going up could have been cut a little differently but not sure I would bank on it improving it.
As above - looks fine and you won't see that once its siliconed (using white).
Thanks for your feedback. I think I may have been a bit picky. After some discussion, we decided to go with a white trim and I think it doesn't look too bad.
Looks like a lovely job .You should be very pleased.
Really nice job. Tiles laid out well.
it really is a first class job - you should praise your builder for that.
where's the shower screen?
Hehe. See https://community.screwfix.com/threads/bath-screen-recommendation-please.221601/
It looks great. What colour is the grout?
It’s Mapei anthracite. We used it to match the anthracite towel radiator in the bathroom.
Bum Gun ………………………..Enjoy
Be thankful that your tiler was very good at his trade. Using high contrast grout like you did would have highlighted any imperfections in his workmanship, and yours do the reverse ... they highlight just how well he laid them all.
This may sound a silly question, where are the taps?
Are they integrated in the overflow?
Most likely - mine are. Well the water output is, I have a bath/shower mixer on the wall whereas that one has the on/off hot/cold and tap outlet all in the same place.
Yup. The overflow has an integrated hot/cold supply built in. Pretty nifty. Let’s hope it’s built to last. Gives a nice modern look.
Apart from te screen which you have already asked about, there is one other item missing, in my opinion.
It can be nice to have a shower head holder down close to the bath so you do not need to reach up to the rail for it.
Shhh!! Don’t draw attention to that lovely long shower head! The water inspector will have a fit if they notice it can actually go near the toilet bowl!!!
Where can I get one? The current shower is a Mira.
