I assumed, as per YouTube video, that once I had removed the tiny grub screw the hinge bolt would knock up and out. But it won't move. Any hints or tips before I "use a bigger hammer" please?

The top of the hinge bolt is an Allen head but screwing it does nothing.

there are literally hundreds of types of hinges and fittings, some of them are just for fine adjustment, however most of them do come off the frame (or door) once you unscrew/unclip (sometimes none) covering plate, obviously you'd need door open and someone to hold it up

Some of them will only 'tap out' once they(the allen key turned) are in a certain position. Some have a little mark to line up properly.

The answer was - use a bigger hammer! With the weight of the door on the hinges it needed more welly from below than I was expecting to use in order to lift the pin up. Now sorted.
