I need help and advice…I dropped a heavy door on my newly laid laminate. I have spare laminate but the piece which is damaged goes under the skirting. The skirting has literally just been painted and I don’t want to touch it. How can I replace the board?

You can't really without removing the skirting, you could bodge it by cutting the piece out with a multitool, inserting a new piece and gluing it down but it will never lock in properly due to the lack of T&G and you will probably have unsightly gaps.

If you want it to look right you will have to remove the skirting. Ok, its going to be messy etc but, you will then end up with a perfect looking floor again. Just take your time..

Only other option is people who do ‘invisible mends’ but will cost you, and ‘you’ll’ still see it!
