Help with Thermostat wiring, please!

    I overlooked the 2 stats. This changes things a bit.

    These? This is the wiring in that box.

    On the new stat brown is live.
    Grey is neutral.
    Black is 2.
    Link live-1.
    Connect the 2 grey neutrals at the wiring centre.

    Brill thanks.

    Somebody mentioned to me that the boiler only giving 24v means I shouldn't link them are they wrong?

    They would be correct if the boiler was a actually giving 24v.
    I don’t think the boiler does though.
    In the wiring centre check the voltage of the 2 grey wires to earth and 2 orange wires to earth

    This may show how amateurish I am, but the orange wires come up a -95v (minus) and the gray as 24.5v.

    Set your meter to ac voltage.
    Test the 2 greys and the 2 oranges to both neutral and earth.
    Make sure the power is all on and wires connected.

    2 oranges are 85.8v to both eart and neutral, 2 greys are 246.7v to both.

    That’s fine.
    Your boiler switches 240v.
    Proceed with the above plan.

    Thanks so much. Wife wil kill me if I get the tools out now so will give it a go tomorrow and update. Thanks for helping me really appreciate it.
