Anybody else been approched by them. Had a message left on the answer phone along the lines of "we as you know do sell electrical installation items to the general public, however we do not have anybody in-house that is qualified to give any advice regarding electrical work in the home & we are now required to arrange a service for our customers. We are looking to get one contractor per area/Homebase shop, that will be a point of contact so our staff can give details to arrange for an electrician to fit any equipment they have purchased from ourselves. Please cal on blah blah blah if you are interested" So from what I can make out you'll either (1)be inundated with Jo public wantin advise for F* all or (2) "can you come & fit this switch the man at homebase said you could. What do you mean pay for it ? " (3)you pay us (homebase) for the privilage of having 50 of your cards in a little holder by the door.
Sounds ok if you like the little jobs, if you do 10 a day at £25 per visit, its a good earner. You can always tell em ya too busy if you dont like sound of em
Is this outfit called Windsor Associates? They do Tescos and Homebase cards Not sure how it works for trades, but my wife is an accountant and has had zero referrals from a card in Tescos in a year.
I have cards in Homebase with WRT / Windsor and find I get a few calls Don't expect the phone to be ringing off the hook. 2-5 calls a month. You will get your money back. Make sure they state only 1 card per trade, and check it. When I advertised the limit was 2 cards per trade (in the dispenser at the exit) After my trade was listed another 2 companies were offering Electrical servicies also. I pointed it out and they sorted the probem.
