maybe me just panicking but the three valves/ports (silver boxes) in our airing cupboard are always hot with one of them sometime too hot to touch. Pipes around them are constantly hot as well. Thought they would go cold when system is not on??. At the moment we only have the water on and this is on for a couple of hours first thing in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening. Even hours after the water is off(timed) these three boxes are still hot. This there a possible issue with the system. HELP

Could it be that you have an electric heating element in the cylinder and that might have been left on (inadvertently)?

So it's the three silver boxes that remain warm or hot to touch and pipes in between them. Any advise?

They are the diverter valves to control the system. They have 3 positions, in 2 of them the motor is continually energised and does get hot. It's a p122 poor system but its almost universally accepted.

    Hi
The 3 valves are actually zone valves, 2 heating zones and hot water
up heating, down heating and hot water,

Whatever is demanded by controls opens and fires the Boiler,
    Regards

They can get hot :) There could be other system control defects but If there is no smell of burning then they can be left alone but flag up your concern when the cylinder is next serviced.
When is the next cylinder service due ?

ask the service company to comment, they have recently seen the installation ;)

from the photo supplied, various parts will get hot due to heat conduction.Depending on your location consider the current weather situation will not assist in any cooling :)

What is the boiler thermostat set at :)
