Hi - doesn't look like the plasterer's going to return to put back the light fittings.

How do I do this please?

Thanks.

Turn off mains power at your fuseboard or consumer unit. Remove the white cover by unscrewing it from the base of the ceiling rose. You will see two holes in the base for fixing screws ,and the base gets screwed to the joist in the ceiling. Be very careful not to damage the cables when putting screws in ,and ensure both screws go into the timber joist ( you should be able to see the timber through the hole in the ceiling)

I don't know whether this helps. The ceiling rose should be in 2 parts which unscrew from each other. One part is fastened to the ceiling and other screws back over it.

Sorry - planning on doing these this weekend - do I need rawl plugs or just longish screws? Thanks!

Depends on what is above the plasterboard. If there is a joist or wooden backing board then a suitable 4mm screw in each hole, if there is no timber then you need plasterboard fixings, on maybe one of each.

Assuming you are screwing into wooden joists then you just need appropriate woodscrews.

@CGN said above you could use plaster board fixings, athough less ideal.

Most important thing is not to screw into the cables.
