How do you reckon the former Great Britain is now viewed by the world?

An back-and-front-stabbing, hypocritical buffoon of a Foreign Sec: article-2182367-145395DD000005DC-773_306x429.jpg

A Brexit campaign being forced through by a throw-back to the 18th century; a privileged, benefits-grabbing, anti-abortion-even-in-cases-of-rape, 'Christian' charlatan: DXdEtNbW0AE0Lki.jpg

And a Brexit secretary of renowned laziness and incompetence: methode-times-prod-web-bin-49fc648c-dacd-11e7-9b16-edd3826708d6.jpg

What else has taken the gloss of our image? How about some classic incompetent thuggery: and

Or the not altogether unexpected increase in hate crime:

No wonder other countries look on at us and shudder. Man, they must be desperate to make deals with us - after we've lain ourselves passively over a self-made barrel.

  2. Cue JJ beeping "Some people on here hate our country!"

No, JJ - I hate what's happening to ruin our country.

Why? Because I am a patriot and not a jingoist.

Who cares what Johnny Foreigner thinks?

That’s not jingoism or patriotism - it’s indifference.

I could pretend to care (for the sake of the thread), but my heart wouldn’t be in it.

I barely care what British think of Britain. I can’t imagine why I should care what people think of Britain in a foreign language.

It’s my superpower. Nonchalant man. I’d get a cape but... meh.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Who gives a ****?

Did we care what people thought of Britain when we waged the opium wars? Where was our national insecurity when we rounded up Boer women and children and put them in concentration camps?

    Caring what other people think?
    That’s neurotic.
Neurotic or civilised, one of two.

Sure the UK has always been viewed as a bit of a joke by outsiders.
At least we won’t be the joke of the EU for much longer.
Let’s be honest, - are there many UK MPs of any party that would actually do a good job in a government?

I'm quite surprised the imminent royal wedding wasn't mentioned as one of the most farcical british follies. To me, if anything make the british look out of touch with the world, it's their obsession with a few underprivileged leeches! o_O

We're great at having a royal family , great for tourism and not bad with education unfortunately we're well know for supplying weapons and arms

I would imagine people in other countries don’t really think about us much anyway.

Perhaps we just need to get over ourselves.

The Yanks love our Royal Family and veiw this wedding as something special, possibly more than most Brits do.

DA if the rest of the world hate Britian as much as you do then we're doomed.

It a good job they don't then isn't it.

Yes some of the main EU Counties are down on us, but then again we are about to relieve them of a large proportion of the gravy train.

The World respects Great Britain. Any conflict, anywhere in the world, Great Britain is the go to ally. Technology, finance, we are a world leader. It's why everyone wants to come here, just look at the queues in France.:)
DA, you despise this country, you hate it, you hate the people, really, why don't you just leave?, go, go to your beloved 'europe' and live there, The World and the Screwfix forum would be a far far happier place.

DA, just going by your inane rantings on here since your side lost the referendum, you can hardly be called “ patriotic.” In the near past, you have ranted that everyone and their dogs are racist thugs, when all we have pointed out are a few facts. We point out the housing crisis. You tell us this was all due to the councils selling off their stock. You fail to take into account that inviting millions of immigrants here has any bearing on housing. We simply mention this and suddenly we’re all rabid, foaming at the mouth members of the NF or the EDL. Mention our NHS and again you completely blame an ageing population, quickly forgetting that adding millions of immigrants all using this service too, brings pressure to bear )
Sadly DA, I’m a realist. I have realised that as a “net contributor “ to EU coffers, we’re never going to get more out than we pay in. I point out the unhappiness with the EU by it’s own member countries. Dunno what you replied has I haven’t read that thread yet, but I’d imagine it’s somewhere along the lines of “ Ahh, they might be unhappy, but they aren’t leaving.”
Sorry for this rather disjointed post, but the basics are in there.

DA won’t do that because,he knows if he moves abroad, his state pension won’t go up in line with inflation.

DA, do at least a little bit of research. Afterwards, report back on how our continental cousins, treat failed asylum seekers being deported. Come on man. I don’t imagine for one minute that the give a failed asylum seeking deportee business class onboard Lufthansa ( or do they? )
  16. They don't hate us, IIR - they pity us.
  17. Why do you say silly stuff, Filly? Silly stuff you know not to be true.
  18. Do you know - understand - the difference betwixt a Jingoist and a Patriot?

Anyhoo - if I wanted to prove a racist point - which is not what I was setting out to do - your completely one-sided view of immigration as outlined in your posts speaks volumes.

DA, you continually refuse to take off those rosey tints. I have not presented a one sided view of immigration. I merely presented two facets of the problems mass immigration in recent times has manifested itself ( housing and the NHS) I’m sure if I did a bit of research, I could find many more. Heck , I bet with a few keystrokes, you could just as easily find them ( you won’t go looking though ) Like I said in another thread, you're one of these forest dwellers that has yet to see a tree.
