A little off topic, but actually updating my iPod,
making a playlist of pure Iron Maiden, saw them last
    night at Earls Court, actually.

You could pat test the stereo to make sure it is safe to play Iron Maiden.

Actually, they had an electrical fault at Earls Court last night. A mains cable burnt, according to Bruce. So the gig finished late.

    Iron Maiden are superb live.
But not as good as Queen.
Saw Queen at Knebworth in 86, Last live performance.
    Till Freddie died.

Still reckon that one of the best songs Iron Maiden have recorded is 'For Whom The Bell Tolls'....apparently the bell you can hear was a genuine recording of Monastery Bell....which was then obviously dubbed into the track.

What about 'Freebird' by Lynrd Skynrd.....that was a good one.....only fault towards the end the guitar solo was a tad protracted.....

Yes did a job some time back on John Deacons house in Hampstead (Queens bass player)....heard him practicing the bass lines for 'It'a A Kind Of Magic'.....don't think I will ever forget those bass riffs to that song.

Long time back....approx 8 yrs....his house was let out usually, but when we did the work the tenants had moved out and he and a few of his mates stayed there for a while.....the chap normally lives in America so was pretty lucky to hear him practicing.....the money these people earn must be immense as his 'second property' in Hampstead must have been worth a fortune.....very big house all old style....massive hallway with Victorian Flagged floor.....lovely.

Must be longer than 8 yrs.
A kind of Magic was 1986.
John not played with Queen since the tributes to Freddie.
He didn't play on any cover versions.

Cant remember exactly when, certainly 8 or more yrs ago and that was the riff he was playing/practicing....the sound of that riff is unmistakable.
