I wish to discover if there is any sort of treatment I can give to the rubber connector that holds the pipe from the cistern to the back of the toilet bowl in order to prevent it from cracking. The image is of the part to which I'm referring. There may be an actual name for it but I don't know what it is. - This is a new one and I have had to replace two others that both cracked within about 3 years of installation. I would appreciate any suggestions or advice that anyone can give.

  2. It is called an external flush cone.
Like most things nowadays, the quality of the materials is probably not as good as they were, and just cheap and nasty imports from china.
