We have an old airing cupboard where our water tank used to sit, we now have a Combi boiler in the loft so I’m planning on storing some things in there but concise it might get too hot for the things I’m going to store in there due to the main central heating pipes that run in there. Is there anything I can use to wrap the pipes to prevent them getting hot in this cupboard?

If so how much is it likely to reduce it by.

Some 19mm wall thickness grey foam pipe insulation, available at any merchants, should help. It's cheap and easy to fit too.

  3. you could also fit vents to door

Insulation on pipes and a vent as mentioned, also if practical you could box in the pipes with some insulation inside.

    Thanks everyone.

I’ll grab some grey foam and see how I get on.

what tape would you recommend for taping the split in the foam and the joins from one piece to another?
