Dont think that is for me Alan, I would be worried nobody knew I was there and ran me over in their car, something a bit more visible is what I was really thinking.
I do envy you unfortunately I'm too old for that sort of travel now but loved it at the time. First trip was overland on the Magic bus to Goa India in the 70s.
Your experience to me is invaluable, I am a seasoned motorcycle traveler but I have always stopped in hotels and B&Bs but fancy trying out camping to save money, the way I see it is the more I can save on hotels is more fuel in my bike and more money for eating out.
Which way round are you going mate? I did North to West which we found the best as the West coast gets really stunning scenery and gets better and better. Wasnt impressed with the North Coast as it was ok but much better on the West coast
I am not much of a cook like that to be honest. I much prefer to be more civilised in a restaraunt (five star) of course.

Now just need a 2 man tent, lightweight and easy to put up, not experienced in errecting tents, it needs to fold up into a small size to save valuable space in my panniers, also I am thinking of trying to cook maybe once or twice a week, possibly more if I get good at it. Any recommendations for these items? Sleeping bag and a liner now sorted thanks to the advice given on here.
