I am connecting an outside light to a switch that operates 3 lights. There are two live and one neutral wires. I have joined the two lives and connected these to the live feed for the light. The light goes on but won’t turn off. What have I done wrong

You have connected the permanent live to the switched live. You need to identify which one is permanent and put it in an insulated terminal block ,which can be housed in the light fitting but not connected to it in any way.

Brilliant
Perfect result. Previous light had a sensor so I assume that needed a permanent supply. The new one has no sensor so permanent supply not needed
Great result many thanks
