I have an IMI powermax 155 which is 9 years old. It has started to light for a few minutes, makes a rattle and then cuts out before reaching temperature. A friend who has the same type of boiler and lives over the road has checked it over. He is a heating engineer. He thinks the internal baffles are distorted and restricting airflow. Has anybody out there come across this fault before we dismantle the boiler? How can I contact IMI waterheating? The phone numbers I have tried are NU. Many thanks for any help.
Since it seems no-one else going to answer... Powermax boilers were alter made by Range and condensing high efficiency Powermax boilers are still made by Potterton/Baxi. I don't know how the IMI models differed from later versions. Baxi/Potterton are on 0870 606 0780. They may be able to help you.
I understand baxi/potty took over the Range boilers and provide support ( spare parts and tech advice ). The burnt out baffles is a common problem with your model, probably exacerbated when its not serviced regularly. Tony
