Can you recommend an impact driver, just occasional home use? I use a Bosch gsb18 drill which came with 2x li 1.5 batteries, is it worth buying a Bosch bare unit driver to compliment and use one of those batteries?
Yes, if you already have some decent Boshc batteries, get a cheap Bosch bare unit that goes with it. I have good quality Makita kit incl 5Ah batteries, so I bought the cheapest brushed Makita Impact driver. KIAB uses Bosch, I expect he'll be along shortly.
I have the Bosch GDX 18 V-EC, probably a bit over your budget, but it's a superb tool, bought it, due the bit holder which combines combines 1/2" square and 1/4" hexagon, has 3 speeds & it's brushless. https://www.howetools.co.uk/bosch-g...MIr8SqlYy51gIVr53tCh1hrw-bEAkYASABEgJn9fD_BwE
Yes, as you already have the most expensive part. Or, bit of a wildcard, ITS tools sell a makita CORDED impact driver for about 70 quid.
Home now, so look at the BOSCH GDR18V-LIN, perfect for home use. http://www.powertoolworld.co.uk/bos...MIhdiTpqW51gIV7bftCh0ZxwMJEAYYASABEgIZFPD_BwE
Bosch GDX 18 V-EC is most likely unsuitable for you,way over the top if your only using for ocassional home use, then the BOSCH GDR18V-LIN would a suit you fine. Only reason I went for the Bosch GDX 18 V-EC was so I could use a impact socket when driving in masonry bolts & other fixings with nut or hex head, quicker than using a ratchet.
You will find your cordless range will grow... Added a Bosch GKS 18 V-LI circular saw to my collection, needed a circular saw for a job, left my mains saw at home, so bought the cordless one, I use the cordless one more than my mains one now. Wanting Bosch Flood Light GLI 18 V-1900, but I can't find it for a sensible price.
