    Hi all,

First time posting on the site and just after some advice.

Im moving into a new build next week and we chose not to have bathroom flooring fitted due to the cost they were trying to charge! Cut a long story short, I’m going to tile the bathrooms myself and want to take the toilet out first.

The backerboard and tiles will take the height of the toilet up about 20mm or so, is this going to be an issue when reconnecting the piping I.e soil pipe? Or will 20mm not be an issue?

    Any help much appreciated!

Probably not ,but depends on the position / height of the soil pipe. Any pics to show of as it is now ?

The toilet is a closed coupled so can’t see the waste pipe, so won’t actually know until I take it off

I assume you mean a back to wall type pan ? Which would indicate that the soil pipe goes straight out behind the pan. Maybe to an external soil stack.

    Yes it is.

I’m hoping 20mm won’t make much difference and can still connect
