Insulate concrete floors

Hi,

This winter has highlighted how cold my concrete floors are down stairs. Has anybody used Kingspans insulation and overboarded it to warm up a cold house?

If so, is it any good? How did you do it?

It certainly will work, but there's some pitfalls.
As you mention downstairs I'm assuming you have some stairs. Any amount of insulation on the floor will affect the height of the bottom step of your stairs. It will be a different height to the rest of the treads on the stairs. This can be dangerous, and there are (I think) Building Regs covering this issue.
Your doors will need trimming.
It might be notifiable work for Buiding Regs, which will specify the minimum allowable amount of insulation.

Here's a useful site setting out the issues.
