Hi all, hoping to get some advice and opinions on insulating the roof of a 1960's semi.

The house has box eaves that extend all the way down to floor level of the first floor as shown here:

The walls (black lines) are just plasterboard with no insulation and behind that is just roof tiles, again there is no insulation other than some foil underneath the tiles.

Basically what I'm trying to decide is whether to insulate the whole underside of the roof between the rafters (red line) or to insulate behind the wall on the plasterboard. A lot of it is difficult to access so if I'm going to do it I want to go down the most effective route. The angled parts of the interior ceiling are especially puzzling because to insulate behind them I'm going to have to effectively cut off the airflow from the eaves to the loft (not sure if this is a great idea).

Thanks for any thoughts or advice.
