I have an internal door frame that (due to construction problems) has ended up with a clear opening of 1407mm width and 1990mm height.

I'd like to fit some bifolds in this frame, doors will be open 99% of the time. Looking at a cottage style oak door like this one (sorry SF).

Any ideas how to deal with the opening that is a bit too wide for 2x 686mm doors greatly appreciated.

Plant some 9 or 12mm MDF on the opening each side which will leave you with roughly 10-17mm tolerance to get the doors fitted. It there is already a timber frame there just rip the MDF down to size and glue and pin on, if the opening is brick then pilot drill, countersink and drill with red plugs and screws.
