Hi there, I'm sorry if this is a really basic question - I'm very inexperienced and find all the building regulations stuff quite confusing.

My main question is with regards to internal garage walls and whether we are allowed to drill into them or whether this will break the fire safety regulations.

We currently have an internal garage with timber stud walls which have been covered with plasterboard and fire sealed. I am keen to drill into the studs to install bike hangers/shelves etc. However, I am concerned that this would mean our garage walls no longer fit with fire safety regs and insurance would no longer cover us if a fire did occur.

Does anyone know if this is correct or am I ok to crack on and install the hangers/shelves etc?

    Many thanks for your help.
