PM of Australia for 2 years...
Have a look at the objections to the UK working on WTO rules for a start.

Thank you, kitfit, for proving my point.

Your point about us older peeps ? Well, this older person well remembers the lies told to us by all the major parties in 1975 about what the EEC membership meant. And just in case you are too young to remember (after all you havn't had the guts to put your age in your profile), the 1975 vote wasn't to even join the EEC anyway, it was about to remain or leave. The government had already joined with no consultation or vote from the public. I was too young to vote at the time, but even then i would have voted to leave.

That seems to be as far as your thinking appears to go.

You have no idea how far my thinking goes, or even if my thinking goes even longer than you have been on this planet.

Tell me your sources of info (other than Abbott) that suggests a 'hard' Brexit will be painless and good for us?

Did i say anywhere in my post it would be "painless and good for us?", no i didn't as you full well know so don't try putting your words in my mouth because it won't wash. My sources of info are the same as everyone else, TV, Internet, mates, newspapers, family............................last but not least my own life experiences.

You were to young to vote in 75 but DA has been retired at least 10 years so I guess you haven't been thinking about this for longer than he's been alive.

Oh dear.
What has retirement got to do with anything, chip's?
One of my mates retired two years ago at the age of 39.
DA, is not even hitting state retirement age yet, or so he says.

Just work the figures out for yourself.

I said in post # 27: "The second biggest reason has just been highlighted by yourself; complete and utter ignorance - aka evasion - of the benefits of EU membership, and what we stand to lose. That 'gut' feeling that Brits are special and we surely must be being held back by the EU - they are our virtual enemies after all... Simple-minded Jingoism. Ignorance. 'Just wait until we're FREE! It'll be GREAT!

That is - quite literally - the extent of thinking by a large swath of the Leave voting population. You either know this to be true, or else you are pretending it isn't.
"

KitFit: "We voted to leave.......................let's just do it and get on with our lives."

Heat: "No Guts. No Glory. We should be leaving the EU as soon as possible."

IIR: posts a video and adds that he's too busy to read the news (whilst idling his time on the forum.)

And Longsie just carries on being slimy.

KitFit special: "Did i say anywhere in my post it would be "painless and good for us?", no i didn't..."

What are we meant to gather from that - a Hard one won't be either painless or good for us? Stop it, KF - I don't want any common ground between us.

It has truly become a bit quiet.

It does seem the honeymoon is well and truly over for those of a Brexit persuasion.

Everyone is entitled to their views on it but it does seem the hard reality is kicking in.

Number one on that list is the fact that there are a long list of Brexiteers who put political point scoring or indeed personal enrichment above the UK's future.

Rees-Mogg, Davis, Johnson, Farage, Banks and the entire DUP head that list.

A lot of people must feel very much like they have been a bit conned.

I love it when you bring on the charm offensive, DA.
How could we not agree with such a nice rebuttal.

They have. Deliberately and deeply.
