Thing is, if we stay in this “ trading club” ( as was when it started) just how long before Junckers turns round to some future chancellor of this country and says “ Your budget speech doesn’t meet with EU expectations,, go and do it again.”? ( and some of you think we retain our bloody sovereignty) They’re doing this with Italy right now. I see no complaints from the usual remoaning suspects, regarding this. Do you want your tax rate set by Junckers, Barnier etc ? Or do you want our government to set tax rates? Where will it all end? I can see a time in the future ( should we remain locked into this grand social experiment) when Brussels will be setting pension rates, setting your council tax, interest rates and telling you what to buy with your weekly allowance ( you know,, the money they’ll allow you to keep out of your wages, pension etc)

So you're scared of a future as foretold by right wing newspapers who hate the EU?

I’m scared of a future where the EU dictate the course of every member states, monetary policy, budgets etc. Not a big stretch of the imagination to see where it’s going chip ( assuming you have a free thinking mind to imagine with) ;);)

Even Macron today is calling for an integrated eurozone budget. One which , no doubt, will impinge on member countries sovereignty and the right to set their own budgets and monetary policies. Just glad we’re not in the eurozone.

JJ said "The thing is..." as if he's just come up with a valid reason for his foolish mistake.

The thing is, JJ, we all know why you voted the way you did, and most of your sidekicks on here too. We all know you don't give an honest answer to a straight question. We all know you've been fed a bunch of porkies from a bunch of right-wing multi-millionaires for their own purposes and you did their bidding for them.

That must be hard to take, 'specially since you've spent at least a couple of years on here trying to pretend it ain't so.

Must be extremely hard for you knowing that the majority of the voting public rejects your beloved EU (for whom your rather do their unelected bidding )

Tis plain that "you" don't want to leave. Such is the attraction of Junckers and his unelected cronies. I bet you have a white flag on a pole outside your house ,, dontcha.

Most of us who voted to leave the EU didn’t need to take advice from the “bunch of right wing millionaires” or any others for the way we voted.

We just had all the 40 plus years of gradual interference and rules and money drain from the unelected EU to make our decision.

Ahh but DA can’t see this ( or even worse, does and chooses to ignore it) Probably believes we should have joined the eurozone years ago and thinks German is the greatest language in der vorld.

    Yes, JJ, it is.

It has seriously damaged my respect for the great British public knowing that they can be so stupefyingly self-destructive and so easily misled. They don't know a good thing when they have it. They felt the pinch due to the financial crash of 2008, and lashed out at the obvious simplistic gut-felt target just as the human race has done over aeons, always to a destructive end.

I thought we'd learned from history - even recent history - and that the Brits were the ones who carried that lesson more highly than others since we were at the forefront of the fight against fascism and extremism.

I love irony, expect it galls me to now see this anti-EU move being at the forefront of the rise of fascism and neo-Nazism across the continent.

You cannot avoid that simple fact; this is welcomed by - it is often the kick-start of - fascist & n-Nazi groups across Europe. It is equally welcomed by Putin who hopes for the break-up of the EU just as much as the u-s do on here.

I know - all it needed was the innate bigotry to be given a release.

What these multi-millionaires did was to repeatedly prod this beast and feed it a constant diet of lies. That's all - it was so easy since the devouring mob were so hungry.

You try and pretend that what these m-m's want is irrelevant to your thinking, but doesn't it give you 'pause' at all?

What does the mulit-multi-multi-multi-millionaire, recently-EU-based hedge fund co-owner and societal throwback Mogg want for you? B'all.

What about multi-millionaire Banks? What about Bannon? B'all.

    They want only for themselves.

You can claim as much as you want that these folk didn't need to prod your beast, but the undeniable fact is that these guys fed you the lies that were picked up and used on this very forum by your sidekicks. And never ever ever - not once - was one of these lies and distortions ever challenged or disparaged by the rest of the u-s; you are members of a cult. They gave your innate thoughts 'legitimacy' - an outlet.

And the u-s used it all - hook, line and whatsit.

It doesn't give you pause that this move is feeding the rise of fascism?

It doesn't give you pause that Putin is rubbing his hands in glee?

You can pretend all you want to that this was your reasoned choice, but the rest of us see it for what it is; an act of intense stupidity, ultimately self-defeating, of potentially huge harm for generations, and all driven by the wee beatie. Nothing else - just the wee beastie.

How the history books will record this moment of staggering irony.

An unelected government, without a country. Wanting to rule over countries with elected governments. It just doesn't seem right.
One of them can't be voted out, the other can.
It all sounds too much like a dictatorship, to my liking.

    It’s like whack-a-rat on here.

Elected. We vote for MEPs (unless my polling station has being playing a bizarre long con).

Business that favoured remain outnumbered those who wanted to leave by 16 to 1*.
Do you think that was anything other than self interest?
Is it just leaver self interest that is bad, whereas corporate self interest is good?
At least people have souls, emotions and ethics. (Wait - that's not right. At least most people have souls, emotions and ethics? At least some people have souls, emotions and ethics?).
Turn it around. What does Toyota want for you? B'all.

(followed by a paranoid fantasy ending with winky faces)

Dunno what to say. Grow a pair and stop being such a scaredy cat?

"Pretty much"? Yeah, now you mention it - I distinctly remember reading about laws being passed to ensure "racial purity".
It's also uncanny how we also have a charismatic leader who commands personal loyalty from the citizens.
I must have imagined those potholes this morning, what with all the autobahns we're building.
Get a grip. You make remainers sound hysterical - leave that to leavers.
