Started the tiling on a bathroom fit yesterday, 30 x 30cm porcelain tiles walls and floor. Went to toppstiles to get the adhesive and nearly fell on the floor when he prices it up. Bal Rapid Set Flexible 20kg bag = £48.97p I needed five bags so with the grout, trim and a few other small bits came to £380!!!! Does anybody know where to get this stuff cheaper?
Tell topps you are trade and you will probably get 30% off. Try a local independant tile specialist and again ask for Trade discount assuming you are trade. Jason

does not work like that at topps now...even if you say you will go else where...they want proper headed paper and proof. then you have to make 4 seperate transactions, then you apply
Rubbish - probably designed to weed out web-savvy DIY'ers who can easily knock out a ficticious letter-head on their PC and claim to be trade. If you're genuine then just go along with a businesscard and previous invoices from existing accounts such as Jewsons, Travis Perkins etc and see how you get treated...
the manager at my local topps tiles gave me a trade card but said that the full discount wouldn't be given untill the 3rd order. having said that I got a full discount on adhesives when I bought the whole lot from then the first time I walked in there without a trade card. The order was 750 quid and the manager used his own card to get the discount. I think i was lucky as it was a new store and he was desperate for buisiness.
