I've taken a wall down and now need to join the two ceilings.

What would you recommend? Try and match the artex, or skim the whole ceiling smooth?

Bluegrit it and skim it all, you'll never patch it in flawlessly and for the cost of trying, you may as well skim it and have a good finish.

You need timber so all sides of that board ( along the run) are screwed.

    Fill joints.
    Tape.
    Skim ceiling.

Stipple pattern is not easy to patch. Always looks naff
