kitchen extractor hood fitting

    Does a cooker hood have to have an isolation switch or can you just wire into a 3 amp plug?

    But I would make it so you can isolate, easily, somehow... If smoke starts coming out of it you want to be able to cut power to it without having to take it off the wall!

    Just pull the plug out, or switch off at the socket. Simples!

    I am assuming the socket will be readily accessible.

    Yep :) mind you the tiny 1M cable is a potential pain in the ****
