Quoted £6850 for Avant Ivory kitchen in March by a kitchen fitter, finally came again the other day to finalise after lots of phone calls .
But he's now adding £1500 on to price ?!?!?
Says his original quote didnt include the end panels(9 off). Not his fault, it was the suppliers, they didnt include them on the original price.
I said thats alot for end panels ! and he then said oh the kitchen price has gone up as well .

Does this sound feasable or should I get another quote.

thanks in advance for any advice

does 8300 sound expensive for units only supply and fit, all plumbing electrics done ,
    1000 larder
    500 larder
    500 pull out larder
    300 base x3
    800 base
    800 base drawer
    900 corner units x 2
    600 base
2 of them round base thingy me bob units
    low level base unit
    500 wall units x5 2 with glass
    600 wall units
    800 wall units
top box for over double fridge and 2 false panels either side(200mm)
9 end panels(4 big ones for larder units)
wood type worktop( probably 6 mtrs and a wide one for the breakfast bar

Beginning to realise this is probably like me trying to quote for a c/htg over the phone but was quite happy with 6850 and now 8350 !

I'd say yeap, you don't meantion sink appliences so yes quite expensive, in sheffield anyway.

You are talking 4 grands worth of units (maybe less) and 2 grand to fit I'd be happy with that.

If you price it up at http://www.diy-kitchens.com/acatalog/IndexHome.html

and you won't need end panels as they are matching units then whack £1500 I'll come fit it for you

yeah sorry undermount sink, add £400 according to his quote,

    originally his quote says
    4650 cost of kitchen
    950 worktops
    undermount sink 400
    fitting 850

    and now 1500 extra

    Im in manchester

    No appliances then?

It's on the expensive side to be fair.

What worktops are they and how many at what dimensions has he got down on the quote?

£400 for an undermount sink is on the expensive side as well although it would depend what spec. it is.

how have you found this guy, has he been recommended or referred from a supplier

we are in manchester and would be charging around £1800 for the total fit

Magnet charge in excess of £100 retail for some of their high gloss endpanels so he is probably charging you full whack.

Without knowing the quality of that make its hard to say if he is overcharging you. I'm doing a fit in a couple of weeks price includes integrated fridge, undermount sinks, two dishwashers all plumbing, electrics and tiling already done and it comes out at £50k and the AGA is on top of that.
