I didn’t say I have no beliefs, - I don’t go to church, but that doesn’t mean I think morals and Christian values are unimportant.
I think you know my point. Bringing kids up, (including when they get into young adults), to respect other people and definitely not wish murder on anyone. I know my parents would have instilled this into me. I don’t think we are born full of morals. I am sure many of the parents of the knife killers are decent good parents, but their child has somehow became part of this knife culture. But the numbers involved clearly shows there is a growing problem. Looks like many victims are easy targets and not involved in fighting, which is worrying
Morals and religion link can be relevant though. I would be reluctant to kill anyone, unless in self defence, because I would feel guilt, partly due to my religious background and partly to upbringing by my parents I reckon. Something is missing from some people in society
You can have morals and ethics without religion and you can be religious without morals or ethics. Bringing religion into a debate about current knife crime is about as relevant as blaming Tony Blair but the hard of thinking on here have tried to do both.
As we can see 'yet again', they do tend to back you into a corner. And we all know the predictable outcome that you've unwittingly demonstrated for us once more. I'm sure it won't be the last.
I wish my parents gave me a phone to watch porn on . There’s plenty of violence in the many of religious works of fiction
I take it that you aren't going to explain what you are on about? I can only presume that drink has been taken
Gringo, where do you get these statistics? are they fed to you from the pulpit? I accept that you have your faith and that it is precious to you, I would not try to convince you otherwise. I do agree that those who attend your Church will be given the moral guidance that you say is lacking in society as a whole, but are you suggesting compulsory Church attendance. It is those who do not attend such Churches to receive moral guidance, that we need to reach, I am suggesting that other societies, groups and institutions should be encouraged to offer similar moral guidance to our young, and perhaps their parents. Moral guidance is not the exclusive domain of the Church, it is for us all to give to our young. Please explain your fixation with bad behaviour and 'The Liberals'. That is a statement that I would expect to hear from the good old USA.
Hey Bob, I think Gringo is referring to liberal thinkers, not the Liberal party. I do believe that the breakdown of families has a lot to do with young people's bad behaviour and the frothy brained attitude of liberal thinkers doesn't help.
lazy/tolerant, this morning watch a program were a dad had his 6 yr old pinched by a pedo and decapetated took hom 27 yrs to find out due to the incopetence of the police he now tracks down people like this he is no longer tolerant/lazy so if we all stopped being tolerant letting standards drop bit by bit then things woukd no go pear shaped apart from the mentaly ill another story
Wait till the loonies come out tonight and it will be atheists, immigrants and single mother's fault, and let's not forget Tony Blair.
