hi wondering if any can help I’m currently having my garden slabed and the people who are doing it as raised the slabs about 8 Incs high of the ground but my concern is that they haven’t removed the old path or lawn they are just building it up using a sand and dry cement mix is this right or will it start to move after a while, and advises would be great full only for the price they are asking I won’t it don’t right

lawn should be removed, even 10cm of soil, replaced with ballast and next sand/cement and slabs

Sounds like a bit of a cowboy job! Echo the above, but would prob go as far to 15cm and use around 10cm of hardcore
