Good afternoon Screwfix Forum I have a garage that the capping stones have started to slip off the crumbling mortar (garage built more than 40 years ago) and the mortar bed that the flashing is sat on is also crumbling. Can I use Everbuild Leadmate sealant to bed the flashing to the top of the wall and also the capping stones to lead flashing. The flashing does not appeared to be held down with any screws or nails, should it be?

The reply from Everbuild looks like I still need a mortar base and bed the lead into the caps. Leadmate is to replace mortaring in of the flashing into a slot in brickwork......

'Thank you for your enquiry, The Lead Mate is a specially formulated product intended as an alternative to mortaring lead flashing.

The product is a silicone base so will have adhesion properties however not normally used as a bonding substitute.'
