Cockerels are male. They fertilise the females eggs (like you and Eckin Su ) and make all the noise in a morning. It's the female chicken that produces and lays the eggs. If yours are all males then no eggs
Actually the females lay eggs irrespective of whether they are fertilised. The unfertilised ones just won’t hatch.
Bright’s cockerels could be “they / them”. Who says they’re male. Stop assuming genders …… you can’t do that nowadays …… apparently
They can identify as anything they want but if they lay eggs they girls, and if they decide on gender reassignment they get 45 mins in the oven.
This isnt the news I needed, I am now having to put up with this continuous screeching and now the added irony of no eggs!! I thought all chickens laid eggs. I am sure the chap where I got them said they were good layers. Now sounds more like he was a good liar as I wasnt aware they screeched all day and night either. My getting them was for eggs and to wake me up at 4.30am each morning except for weekends. In exchange for this service I offer them a good life with comfortable surroundings.
This may become an option as my LED lights didnt work out and I just seem to be going from bad to worse with them.
I think you might be onto something with the seahorses, after a bit of research I just discovered the female puts 2000 eggs into the males..er..'sack', that's 2000 eggs at a time from each one, and the good news is that no one, that is no one in the world, is supplying seahorse eggs, the market is wide open, seahorse meat and eggs could be the next big thing on gastro pub menus, and...they don't make a sound. They are laughing now but you could be the first to market...the seahorse!
