    Hi all

Have installed 2 out door lights and once a bit cooler to go up in loft will be doing all the connections. How would the switch be wired.

It will be a single LNE source from loft into junction box, then this split to a pair of lights, switch will be inside.

Does the switch connect at the nearest light or does it have to connect in the junction box or should switch go to both lights.

    Many thanks

The feed from the loft must be a permanent LNE.
A common mistake is to connect to the switched side of the source circuit, then the outside lights will only work when the (eg) bedroom light is on!

Yes, as bazza says the feed must be permanent, in a newer house you might not have a permanent supply at the light.

Use a J804 junction box - made by Hager or Ashley or Rock

It has four terminal for each of the L, N, E & SL
