    1312A594-E1FA-4F23-918C-D9649DE42A4D.jpeg Hi,
I’m replacing a ceiling light fitting and the old wiring looks odd. There are two earth wire - one was connected to the earth of the old metal light fitting, the other seems to be connected to the switched live (see attached photo). Does anyone know why this would be? (The light was working before I disconnected it)

    Cheers

    This needs looking asap.
Possibly earth disconnected somewhere else so light unit isn't earthed.
    Get a local electrician.

And potential metal light unit live when light switched on.

It appears from your photo the earth wire has broken (detatched) from the earth term, and is in very close proximity to the live terminal. You need to reinstate the detached earth into the earth terminal to ensure earth continuity of your lighting circuit.
