1930's house had wooden window frame supporting soldier bricks.
PVC frames were replaced years ago, but are now sagging at the top of one and soldier bricks have dropped as there's no lintel.

bricklayer neighbour (who has built an extension) said there's no cavity.
Apparently its a solid 9" wall of 2 leafs touching each other.

Iv'e bought a 4mm thick stainless steel L profile lintel for the outer leaf, acrows, strongboys etc.

    My question is this:

as there is supposedly no cavity, there seems to be no need for a damp proof tray or DP material.

    1) Is this correct?

    2) Is there a another method of damp proofing the lintel install for solid walls?

    3) Is there any point in putting in weeps if not doing the above?

    thanks
