Just querying a quote as it seems insane.

    So, I have a Logic Combi 35.
I noticed the other day that it was leaking, just a drip but I couldn’t figure out where from.
We got someone round for £85. Seemed somewhat reasonable.
He’s arrived and advised that the issue is a broken manifold which needs replacing and a thermoregulator: don’t quote me on that, I can’t remember exactly what it’s called.

the quote is £630 for the work. A new boiler would be about £1200 installed parts and labour.

Just to add, he’s said he can get the parts cheaper but not with manufacturers guarantee. He’s also told us not to use the boiler whilst waiting for parts. The pessimist in me is saying that this could be a pressure tactic.

    Something feels off.

Can someone rationalise this quote please?

Contact the manufacturer directly for a fixed price repair.
