Lost Freeview Channels?

A Samsung tv with built in Freeview used to get channels 30 and 31, now it doesn't? Freeview say aerial out then auto retune, this should store zero channels. Aerial in then auto retune, this should install the channels afresh and often solves faults. With the Samsung tv when the aerial is withdrawn the function to retune is greyed out so can't be carried out. Any hints or tips to resolve this issue?

nigel, how will it tune without the areal?

The areal surely must be plugged in.
glob@I, Have you checked the areal?
I had same fault a few months back. Removed areal lead & cut back a few inches, only to find water in the lead.
I ran a new cable. All sorted.

The tv is retuned with the aerial in after it is retuned with the aerial out, apparently it can fix faults. I might cut the cable back a bit and make a fresh connection over the weekend.
    Thanks.
